Coup de Mort or "Blow of Death" is an ability of the Mercenaries of the Western Coalition.

It is a deadly maneuver used to finish off an opponent when weak, wounded or disabled.

Mercenaries can attempt to COUP an opponent for a chance kill them instantly. The success of such a maneuver is based on a variety of factors including the wounds of an opponent, its energy level and whether it is prone or sitting. A successful Coup will kill the target, while less successful attempts may miss entirely or cause severe damage.

You must be using offensive tactics to even attempt a Coup de Mort. This technique does NOT work with unarmed combat and likely doesn't function when using a ranged weapon.
