Guildmasters are NPCs that can teach abilities to members of their guild. They are frequently also taskmasters and trainers, but this isn't necessary the case. You can ask guildmaster about promotion if you have enough promotion points. You can then ask guildmaster about abilities to see a list of abilities and ask guildmaster about ability # for information on a specific ability.
