  • Greatly reduced frequency of random fear effects from telepathic curses. -- Jirato 18:12, 21 April 2020 (EDT)
  • Artisans may once again hire mercenaries to guard them against the dangers of the Lost Lands. Head to the entryway by the barracks for details. Note that these have been reworked from the ground up with things such as limited shift times. Use the PAY command for the syntax to add more time to their shift. There is also a heavy penalty for allowing a hiresword to die while under your command. These merchanaries are considered unique NPCs and any mistreatment will have harsh IC penalties. -- Noctere 17:13, 20 April 2020 (PDT)
  • The bug database has been redesigned from the ground up in an effort to transition away from using MySQL. Existing bug reports have not been carried over, as we felt it best to start with a clean slate. Certain bug-related commands such as BUGCHECK are temporarily disabled while they are rewritten to use the new document database. Please continue to submit new BUG and TYPO report as needed. -- Jirato 11:44, 20 April 2020 (EDT)

  • Artisans can now donate completed armor, weapons or shields at the Haiban Supply Room for guild points. Note that only items with a quality greater than normal will earn points. Also be warned that items being offered CANNOT be returned and will be permanently deleted from the system. This includes items offered within wagons or handcarts. -- Noctere 12:44, 19 April 2020 (PDT)
  • The market price for nails has been further adjusted to be more in line with other similar commodities. -- Noctere 10:32, 19 April 2020 (PDT)
  • Combat Restraint no longer grants guild points when used. -- Noctere 00:34, 15 April 2020 (PDT)
  • Fixed an order of operations issue with the skillgain function which was causing some situations that should award 0 skill such as using combat restraint to still gain skill if certain bonus skillgain conditions were met. -- Jirato 18:38, 14 April 2020 (EDT)
  • Sales cart owners can now hang a sign on the front of their carts. Use the shop command for syntax. -- Noctere 07:12, 14 April 2020 (PDT)
  • Characters will now be prompted to acknowledge the fact that SING and RECITE are not to be used for real-life songs and poetry upon their first use of the SING or RECITE command. -- Jirato 10:16, 11 April 2020 (EDT)

  • The CHAT command is now limited to use once every 15 seconds during times of high server population. -- Jirato 22:47, 4 April 2020 (EDT)
  • The additional sales cart functionality has also been added to the PARTNER command. -- Noctere 01:26, 04 April 2020 (PDT)
  • A boss level error had emerged from the sales cart whack-a-mole bug fix game. It too has been bopped on the head and a running error fix has been added to the code to keep it at bay. This involved the partners command and their remaining balance. Simple use the SHOP command to correct the issue. -- Noctere 01:08, 04 April 2020 (PDT)
  • Sales carts have been improved with some additional functionality and improved messaging. You can now add or remove a custom description to your listed items. Check the SHOP command for syntax. -- Noctere 12:10, 04 April 2020 (PDT)

  • Sales carts have been re-released for artisans. To purchase a sales cart you must first acquire the shopkeeper ability then purchase one from the rental yard in Haiban. Carts add an extra 1000 riln to your guild dues and only function when you are current with them. Functionality is via the SHOP command when in an appropriate location. -- Noctere 12:00, 30 March 2020 (PDT)
  • As the general population of CLOK has been significantly higher in the past couple weeks, the amount of population-based skill gain bonus has been reduced. -- Jirato 11:47, 29 March 2020 (EDT)
  • After some internal discussion we decided to be transparent with one small item concerning legendary items. Let it be known that metal used from previously smelted items(weapons/armor/etc) will have 0 chance towards crafting a legendary item. Only new bars smelted straight from ore or purchased from a store will work. -- Noctere 04:42, 29 March 2020 (PDT)
  • You now have the possibility of crafting a legendary weapon, armor or shield when blacksmithing. The chances of this happening are extemely low and the specifics of how this works will not be discussed. However it should not be expected by anyone who is not a master in their craft. Note: a legendary blade/head plus a masterful hilt/haft will make a legendary weapon. Legendary items do more damage and absorb more damage than masterful items. -- Noctere 04:25, 29 March 2020 (PDT)
  • It is no longer possible to gain stealth skill from nether plants or other "room contents critters". -- Jirato 21:51, 26 March 2020 (EDT)

  • Riln, being an imperfect reproduction of currency, now has a slight variance to its weight. No two piles of riln will weigh exactly the same. -- Jirato 13:51, 7 March 2020 (EST)

Often this will be in response to a request you have made or other items that we were not able to communicate to you while offline. The message is sent only once so please watch for it. -- Noctere 18:33, 06 March 2020 (PDT)

  • We are in the process of building a new server for CLOK. We're using this opportunity to make some more large-scale optimizations, fixes, and changes that are difficult to do in a production environment. The two servers will be running concurrently for a couple months while we make said changes and transition over. Any devlog entries beginning with [Test Server] only apply to the new server and may not be immediately available to the public until we switch production servers or hold a public test. -- Jirato 17:42, 6 March 2020 (EST)

  • POLICY 9 has been added to further clarify unacceptable behavior over CHAT, QUESTION, TELL, the CLOK BBS, and the official CLOK Discord. Please note, as stated within the policy, that we unfortunately cannot monitor all of these channels 24/7. • Mining, skinning and foraging now have special 'experimental' commands which can be used to indicate any bag, cart, wagon or container in the area to store your gathered materials. Simply use the AUTOSTASH command after the first word followed the name of the container which can contain at most one adjective. You can also use the new STASHCLEAR command to remove the set container. Examples: MINE AUTOSTASH RED BACKPACK or SKIN AUTOSTASH HANDCART or FORAGE AUTOSTASH PINE WAGON or MINE STASHCLEAR -- Noctere 17:48, 10 October 2019 (PDT)
  • Corrected an issue where mine veins were spawning with outdated data. The previous announcements about vein rarities and yield were not taking effect due to code referencing an outdated portion of the mining module. Note that recovery emails now come from clok at clokmud.com instead of gmail. Please be sure to check your spam folder and/or whitelist the clokmud.com domain for email. -- Jirato 19:13, 22 September 2019 (EDT)
