Chained weapons are excellent at bypassing an opponent's defenses due to their unique ability to wrap around shields or parries and still strike their target. However, they are difficult at best to parry with and are generally clumsy to wield. Most are heavy enough to damage an opponent's shield arm even when a strike is blocked.
