Weather in the Lost Lands is variable and based on real life weather. You can check the warmth your clothing is offering by using the warmth command and the current state of the weather in your area using the weather command.

Rain, Fog and Snow

Rain can douse people within it with water which may have unique interactions with certain other status effects and some types of magical ability. A combination of weatherproof headgear and robes, cloaks or coats, can be worn together to avoid becoming wet, otherwise hooded cloaks or robes made of waterproofed materials with the hood pulled up can be used to defend against rain. Snow occurs only in cold enough environs and can be picked up via the command get snow and can even be made into snowmen. Both fog and heavy rain obscure vision when attempting to use the peer command to see into other rooms. Keep in mind that the weather in the Lost Lands changes with the seasons, so areas may get much hotter or much colder and as such you may see snow in places that normally do not receive it during other times of the year.

Hot and Cold

Areas that are hot enough, such as ones that list themselves as at least warm, can provide a morale boost to characters swimming in deep water within them, or via using the splash command in either deep or shallow water. During Fall and Winter and even during the Spring and Summer for some areas, the Lost Lands can become a colder place, especially in the southeast and atop mountains. If going to explore a colder area, you will want to put on appropriate clothing, have a campfire or similar means of heating, or you will freeze to death. Freezing works as a gradual process in areas that lack heat, applying cold damage that eventually amounts to frostbite injuries.

Environmental cold damage differs from Cryomancy in that it does not apply direct damage to the body, only frostbite.
