Energy is a character stat that is required for most any action that could be considered requiring appreciable effort, such as swinging a sword, tilling a field, or casting a spell. A character's energy will regenerate over time, provided that character has nutrition to fuel said energy regeneration. Energy regenerates twice as fast while sitting or lying down. Running out of energy will cause a character to fall unconscious and be extremely vulnerable, as well as unable to use the vast majority of commands. Death occurs at -100 energy. Bleeding flesh wounds cause energy loss, as well as any strenuous activity, combat commands, and traveling in the wilderness.

A character's energy level can be checked via the info and health commands. By default, the command prompt will indicate when a character is Winded, Tired, or Exhausted.

Taking damage reduces the target's energy levels, based on the amount of damage suffered.
