Getting training for a skill doubles the amount of skill gain and raises the skill by an amount of points based on several factors including how high the skill is.
You can find NPC trainers all around the Lost Lands, more commonly in the towns and guilds. They generally require a certain amount of riln for their service, although some in guilds will take recognition points. Player with a skill level higher than yours can also train you, using the teach command.
Before you can train the trained skill again, you have to obtain 2.5 unmodified points worth of skill gain, which generally doesn't come out as 2.5 in the skill. Usually you will see roughly ten points of base skill gain with each lesson.
The limit of skills you can train simultaneously is three. If you don't want to finish studying a skill, you can abandon the training. However, you can't study the same skill again until you reached the 2.5 points unmodified skill gain.
