When unburdened and light on your feet, you can perform a quick tumble to get out of harm's way or just to impress onlookers.

The individual will have a passive chance to tumble away from melee attacks. This occurs before other combat calculations (dodge, block, parry) are taken into account, and is essentially an extra chance per attack to avoid getting hit.

Automatically tumbling away from melee attacks will occur unless any of the following preventing conditions are met:

  • Being in a dark room
  • Wearing certain moderate or heavy armors.
  • Being in the following tactics: Offensive, Fury, Guardian, Block
  • Encumbrance level above "You feel burdened."
  • Holding an item over eight pounds in either hand.

In addition, the individual can get improved results from the tumble verb, allowing them to tumble more smoothly and tumble up to a standing position had they been sitting or prone.
