corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
After finding I no longer learn from the pelos golems, and the asylum corpses are way too difficult to handle alone, I've been asking around to see where to go next to find corporial nethrim. In the process of running around places with a few people, it seems there really aren't any good options. However, we also discovered that Redleaf mobs still have the skill levels from Cogg. I'm told that they used to range from around 1000 to 1300 depending on the section, which would be a perfect spot for in between the golems and corpses. Any chance that area could be put back to clok levels?
Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
Redleaf mobs did not range that high in Clok in my memory. I believe they were around 400-800 depending on the section, but I haven't spent much time in there. There may not always be a corporeal option available. You might want to try some of the different parts of Thaelsh though. There's generally a good level range down there. The sewers might work for you.
Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
I will say something that used to help in Clok and I'm not sure is still a viable option, was changing tactics. If you put yourself in a more defensive tactic mode you lowered your offensive roll and could gain skill in an area more safely. If that's not still available in 2.0 it may have revealed some new gaps in skill-level mobs.

Mid-tier Thaelsh is in the 1500-1600 ballpark, sewers included.
I mentioned it on discord and just went to check: the animated suits of armor in the whispering forest might work. They're around 1200.

Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
I remember Red Leaf knights, now vanguards, were around 1100-1200. And that area has changed a few times with differing scaling. including that one horrible time with an army of large-riverstone slinging skeletons.
however, the above 800 range up until around 1100-1200 seems to be a very dry spot for combat skilling for everyone. Let alone a person playing with restrictions.

I've been warned strongly against the sewers, so haven't ventured in there. The places in thaelsh we did check though, were still too low skill.
As for there not being a corprial option, this creates some issues with skilling up for any templar aspirants who are trying to avoid killing the living purely for training purposes. As it is right now, training against incorporial nethrim is pretty much impossible unless you have access to light or fire. Torches break too easily to be feasible for training, you'd have to haul around dozens of them which means a lot more weight. Netherbane oil is an option, but it lasts such a short time that even with a stockpile, that would disappear pretty fast if used that way. Since it's only obtainable once a year during an event, that's a bit limiting too.
Of course, if steel or iron did any kind of significant damage to incorporial nethrim, that would make things at least a little easier at least for exploration. But what I was told about redleaf skills did make me think that could be a simple answer to the problem. After all, it could be useful for elemancers in that range too that want to train their pyromancy, or actual templars wanting to work on melee skills.
I know a lot of areas were changed for cogg, so can't speak to what the skill level for any of them were on clok before. Just going off of what I was told when I went with a group to check it out.

Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
Why do you have to be able to kill something to train against it? In some ways, that makes incorporeals better to train against. Their biggest downside is that you can't break limbs, bind, etc. to make combat easier. But you can absolutely swing away at a ghost for practice.
Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?
The main issue with the non-corporeals is their attacks tend to hurt harder. Especially if she's used to just fighting the golems and such that don't use weapons. They also drain energy from cold damage. It makes it hard to sit and train without having to rest or go back to town to heal.
