Hey all!
In connection to the recent updates that have been done tonight, I'd like to throw a few feedbacks, I don't know if this is the right place, but based on the recent posts, I think this is it.
1. The sling breaks after 4 fights, each one killing three or four infested vagrants. My character hasn't got a good skill, so it might be like, 10/12 shots each one? More or less.
2. The sling still can be used when it breaks completely, and it continues spamming you with the thing a leather sling has broken, and so on.
I would like to ask if it is possible to decrease the speed with which things break, if it is possible. Consider that there are characters who are perhaps settling, and who don't have that much money to buy 3 or 4 of the same weapon, and then bring them to repair. It is not the case of my character, though, as I got quite settled with her. Hope this can bring improvements. 😄

Weapon Durability
Re: Weapon Durability
Though I haven't tested it thoroughly by any means, it does appear the even metal weaponry degrades pretty quickly as well, even against unarmored mobs (in this case ravens and bog bodies) . Material doesn't *appear* to effect this much, either.
A brass dart that was being tested went from 100% durability to well-worn (I forgot what I examined it at) in about 100 successful throws, maybe less. In comparison, a bronze throwing axe was about the same in a bit less time, though I'm fairly confident that one didn't start off at 100%. They're both cupric alloys, and as such, should be stronger and more durable than copper (which I have not tested).
I'll sit down and do more specific testing later with what I have available and see how they all compare, including firearms.
Though my firearms are taking damage, the ammo itself doesn't appear to be. I'll test this further as well.

A shadowy wolf with luminous blue eyes emerges from the edge of the redwood grove, its stance and gait non-aggressive. Maintaining several yards distance, it sits. Several others begin to emerge from various points in the foliage around you, causing you to realize you have been surrounded. The first wolf stares at Vighon for many long moments, unmoving and unblinking, as the surrounding wolves remain still. Then the first wolf stands, turns, and heads back into the redwood grove. The surrounding wolves disappear back into the surroundings.
Re: Weapon Durability
To specify my point further, I wuill paste for you my skills here. My character is a newly created one.
--COMBAT-- --- ---
Armor Use 10.575
Dodge 27.507 4.609
Melee Combat 3.777
Marksmanship 9.662
Slings 18.919 0.759
And to specify even better, I am using the sling from the hunter's lounge. I can also get you the current sling I have in hand, which has been used for fighting exactly 3 vagrants.
You carefully examine a leather sling (well-worn) that is in a heavy canvas backpack (open) ...
A primitive yet difficult-to-wield weapon, the sling consists of a simple pouch between lengths of cord used to launch stones. Clumsy and ineffective in untrained hands, the sling can nonetheless be extraordinarily accurate and deadly in the hands of an experienced wielder.
It is a small item, mainly made of leather.
It can be worn on a belt.
It can be used to shoot foes with stones and bullets.
It appears to be well-worn (41%).
It could be dyed a different color.

Re: Weapon Durability
Per today's changelogs:
- Fixed a bug that was causing slings to have lower durability than intended.
- Ranged launchers (bows, slings, etc.) now take their primary material into account when determining their durability loss on use.
- Brass and red brass have had their material durability properties increased, leaving them above copper but below bronze.
Ammo durability is being a little fiddly at the moment.Squeak wrote: Sat Mar 08, 2025 5:37 am Though my firearms are taking damage, the ammo itself doesn't appear to be. I'll test this further as well.

Re: Weapon Durability
Thank you so much for this! That is pretty much appreciated. Can PC's repair those slings, speaking of?
