The Crowd

Rumors have been flying around about a recent happening on the telepathic ESP channels. Word is that people tuned to the telepathic network began to feel "crowded" in their minds, and began hearing strange, overwhelming thoughts in their heads. While many people took off their pendants and other ESP artifacts in order to escape the strange presence (presences?), some reportedly kept them on and at one point felt like something was "clawing into their mind", causing great pain and leaving them unconscious for a time.

For reasons unknown, the "crowd" mysteriously vanished from the telepathic network not long after arriving, leaving a very confused local populace.
