New Factions

Post by Makkah »

Just curious what was in mind for anything like this.

With New Dusklamp being released, I figured a new Infected alignment was close, but nothing yet.

Also... a way to become Canim might be really cool.

New Dusklamp is its own faction, and will likely be expanded. There's at least one player character who's good with them.

Canim is an affliction rather than a faction, though being canim does have some minor faction consequences. We've got one player now who's trying out canim stuff for us as we implement it. We won't be putting in an automated way for people to become canim. Afflictions are meant to be fairly rare and situational.

There are some other factions out there, too (besides Shadgard/Mistral Lake/Corvus) but we prefer to keep stuff more manually-managed than automated. If you've got ideas or desires for your character's faction situation, roleplay them out, and contact a GM about them to make sure we know what you're planning on. We can't promise we'll accommodate (for instance, you're not going to get in good with the scarecrows if you've made a habit of fighting them in the past), but we're willing to work with players, within reason.

So far it's seemed that most players involved in these more obscure factions have kept it quiet, but they're out there, and it's possible to join or at least come to neutral terms with them. Players just need to put in the effort.
The lore compels me!
