Mounted combat: CHARGE and TRAMPLE

Post by Rias »

It is now possible for riders of war-trained mounts to charge or trample a target.

Charge is best for large weapons - you get a single, powerful blow. You cannot perform mounted charges with brawling weapons or daggers. This uses the basic attack calculation, with a boost dependent on riding skill.

Trample is useful for knocking a target down and possibly doing some trample damage as the target is trodden underfoot. Success is based on riding skill and melee, as well as the mount's melee skill. Target defense is based on dodge and melee.

Since it is the war-trained mount doing the charging/trampling, no special ability is required on the part of the rider to perform these maneuvers, although riding skill plays a big part in effectiveness.
The lore compels me!
