I'm curious what other mummer's takes are on the use of Word of Wonder versus the use of Word of Tranquility.
Why would I want both? They seem to do nearly the same thing. The "Mesmerized" state is a bit less restrictive than "Unconcious" I guess, but I don't really understand why there's two different abilities for something so similar.
How is it on duration? Does tranquility last longer than wonder?

Wonder is supposed to be more effective than normal on Netherim to stat with, and for RP reasons as well. Also, Tranquility doesn't guarantee a target is going to sleep, whereas Wonder guarantees that a target will be rendered "stunned". The Mesmerise effect puts your target's defense rolls at 0, while simply making a target Calm will just stop hostilities temporarily.
Morgoth, I cried

I will take part in your damned fate

Also keep in mind there may be overlap between Word effects. Effect considerations are based on logic and lore more than "would this have a specific unique effect unavailable otherwise", as the Mummers are intended primarily as a roleplaying guild.
