Perception gains from finding items
Given that you get perception gains from detecting hidden people/animals I think it would be neat if you could also get at least some form of gain for finding objects that have been hidden by others. Opinions?

You don't get perception gains for finding hidden entities if they are fiendly or neutral. You only gain perception from finding hostile entities because of the risk-reward principle that underlies the game. Finding items, like finding friendlies/neutrals, carries no risk (and is already a reward). That's my two cents.
