Release fish

Can we please have a way to release fish after catching them? I know they have a chance to flip in the water if you drop them but I'd like to just throw them right back in.

It looks like the fish flopping may have been removed, I have a pile of fish sitting on the ground next to me and none of them are moving. I bugged it in the game, is this a feature or a bug?

I know there are a couple places with shallow water where dropping the fish lets it swim away. Even happens if you're spearfishing, which amuses me.
