Does it increase my chance to find what I want or will it just reduce clutter by ignoring everything else?

Normally when you're mining it selects a new material to roll for at random, with every swing of the pickaxe.

With prospect you're only rolling for 1 mineral type repeatedly. It's a pretty huge advantage.
