So, I've noticed this before but never brought it up.
Shadgard: an average steel axe: 796 riln
Haiban: Same axe: 196 riln
Suggestion 1: Have the Shadgard blacksmith add "I don't like your face" every time you order.
Suggestion 2: Tweak the gap slightly.

You say, "There's got to be a joke in this."
Re: Shadgard blacksmith pricing tweak
I believe the original reason the pricing was so high is because Shadgard specializes in copper and steel/iron items are considered imports, but that does seem like a large gap. Then again, Haiban came way after and it's possible its prices are just low :P Curious to see how this turns out.
Re: Shadgard blacksmith pricing tweak
(Speaking to the original intent.)
IC reason: Iron isn't found in the Shadgard region, so it's mostly imported from Mistral Lake, where iron is abundant. Mistral Lake exporters, caravan traders, and Shadgardian merchants all take advantage of this, so prices for iron goods are pretty crazy high in Shadgard.
OOC reason: It's to encourage players to head over to other places to acquire iron goods. It's neat that some things can only be (reasonably) acquired in certain places, and hopefully encourages travel/exploration.

The lore compels me!
