The Infested Town of Tarueka
The Infested Town of Tarueka
The source (or at least an outpost) of the infested creatures attacking Shadgard has been discovered. Alarayn, a prominent member of the Tse Gaiyan Udemi, led some brave citizens along the road north through the wilderness and to what appeared to be an infested town, serving as an outpost for the infested creatures.
This area is a new beginning hunting area, covering the same danger/skill range as the abandoned farm (which is currently neutral territory rather than hostile). Members of the Udemi rangers will be pleased to see that they receive guild recognition for striking the infested creatures within.

Tarueka is a bit more sectioned now. Outside the town itself you should see carriers and laborers. Inside the town proper (through the gates) are the tougher guards and brigands. Hounds and agents are both inside and outside. This should make it a bit easier to hunt in, considering it's supposed to be a beginning hunting area.
Please report if you find creatures straying outside their designated areas.

Was hunting a bit this morning, there was a stray guard or two floating around, but I didn't see any brigands.
Edit: Outside that is.

So... I went inside and actually, I think it would work better if the Agents stayed in the gates with the Brigands.
Guards can stay out if you'd like, but Agents are much tougher than Guards.
Hounds aren't bad if you have armor on and work well in and out.
Carriers are great for beginners. Laborers are just mean. (Darn pickaxes.)

In an attempt to make this area more beginner-friendly, the area outside of Tarueka has been partitioned a bit more. Now only carriers can be found where you could once find carriers, laborers, and hounds. The hounds and laborers have found a new home in a newly discovered farm toward the southwest of the area.

I like the new separation, but was wondering if there could be more low-level infested mobs in the first area? Maybe even something weaker than carriers so newbies who don't want to train to 50 on the dummies can get some real-world experience?
Also, the laborer/hound area seems a bit too highly-populated when I wandered around it. Not sure if that's intended.

I think the overpopulation is from when I was making it. I put in spawn points before it was completely ready. The numbers should thin down as you kill mobs. If it doesn't let me know, because it is a bit crowded in there. I'll think about making something weaker than carriers to add to the outside area.

Huh. I was under the impression that carriers had 0 skill, but apparently that wasn't the case, so they've been fixed and now have no skills at all. The only difference between fighting a dummy and fighting a carrier is that a carrier can punch you for a whopping 10 points maximum.
Brigands and agents will not spawn in Tarueka. What is that dark object, miles out, floating down the river?
Any word on when this'll be out? Infested areas need some love!
