1 week Re-Invitation Campaign to Welcome them back

Dear CLOK Community,

Certain players made a signicicant presence on CLOK, have dropped off and are seen no more. I am not talking about those who announced their decision to leave CLOK for good, but rather those who took a bit of a break from the game only to return no more.

As part of this campaign, if you choose to participate in it on a particular week, you would send (A) one in-game IC mail asking about the player's health and asking them to come into town to share a meal and/or an ale with them; and (B) one PM (Personal Message on the BBS) in an ooc fashion saying you appreciated having them in CLOK and think the game would be better off with them showing up at least once per week for old time's sake, something to that effect.

For the recipient's sake, I am going to urge a policy of only 2 or 3 sentences for each of (A) and (B), nothing too overbearing, just to convey your belief that the CLOK experience would be better if they came back. Send only one of each from your one Alt that knew the player's most frequent Alt the best. Regardless of the Invitee's response, once you've sent your two brief messages, and the week ends, no further attempts ought to be made to write to the Invitee and we agree to let them rest in peace.

Admittedlty, that player may not have enabled e-mail notification of one or both of in-game mail or of BBS PMs, but that is beyond our control. If we wrote to them, we did what we could.

Should you not like the particular player of the campaign week, or are new and simply never met them, fine; please send nothing and let the week go by without participating.

If you are the player whose Character name is the subject of the week's campaign, and in your case you have not left but are playing under an Alt now, by all means keep your Alt identity a secret but do make a post here on BBS or otherwise convey to the Community that you are still with us under a different Persona. The campaign in this case will be cancelled and another former player chosen.


I will pick the first person to politely invite back, and in another thread, we can discuss how to nominate/choose Invitees for future weeks.

Am happy to report that Spearhead logged in during last week, and he made it a point to tell me he appreciated the re-invitation Campaign.


For our second week, the re-invitee will be River. Same concept as stated above; if you never knew her, rest this week; if you did and would like to invite her back, her character is 'River' and her profile for PM is memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=53
