I don't know if this is really a bug, but it seems like there's a lot fewer large branches around than there should be. Even a felled tree will have very low large branch totals. Maybe it's based on tree-type? Is that something that could be confirmed?
This aspen tree someone helped me with had only one large branch. There were other trees I've seen with branches on them and gotten zero large branches after processing the tree. Foraging them is fairly rare as well. I understand that large branches should probably be fairly uncommon, but is it intended for them to be *this* rare?
Large Branches
Re: Large Branches
Well... Strictly speaking, the branches players get are 'straight' large branches. Ones which are usable. Clearly there will be other large branches, they're just not usable for some reason. And obviously, the chance of a branch becoming unusable will increase as it gets older and bigger. Hence, large branches will be much rarer than other kinds of branches.
Re: Large Branches
Yep. They have to be the right size and straight enough to carve, say, a quarterstaff or an axe haft from. Most tree branches have lots of knots and curves, so I imagine it is a little difficult getting a perfectly straight branch from most trees.
