Is it intended for instrument skill to have a cap? I know leveling up a specific instrument is closely associated with your skill in Music: General but I currently have both within 20 points of each other and I'm not seeing any progression.
As the system is fairly new I just wanted to double check before I threw in a bug report.
(For an aside, if there is any interest in developing a bit more of a robust set of PLAY descriptors, I would love to help even though Rias seems against making it as in depth as Gemstone. =P)
Instrument Skill
Re: Instrument Skill
There's a temporary cap until instrument-playing is more hammered out, rather than that skill everyone grinds while alt-tabbed in another window.
More play descriptors/ideas suggestions is good. No mighty wizards standing atop snow-shrouded peaks with their robes flapping in the wind, though!

The lore compels me!
Re: Instrument Skill
What about the ability to read special books or otherwise learn a few special musical pieces or songs once your skill reaches certain levels? Anyone can simply hammer out pleasant-sounding notes, but I would suspect that there are popular sings throughout the Lost Lands. Maybe each town and hamlet could have a bard that can teach the regional favorite if you show promising talent. Or maybe even limit specific sings to mummers-only.

Re: Instrument Skill
In addition to what Drayla said, it'd be nice if most of the races had their own folksongs. Faewyr, songs about nature and the love of family; Parron, the sea; Viali, the Lost Lands version of a few gospels...and so on and so on.
Maybe a few of the creative players can pitch in for fun.
In regards to the title of the thread itself, someone else noticed that the skill advances further and further apart the higher the skill is. Broken strings and fuzzy bows anyone?

Oh, don't listen to me. I'm so picky I keep wishing for a small fraction of a skill point in jaw-harps so I can have my elemancer or templar learn to play it. lol
