Drakolin Scale Armor?

Post by Ardor »

Since Drakolin scales seem to be supremely tough (Strong enough to dampen Evelyn's swings) wouldn't it make sense to make armor out of them (*cough* Trader only *cough*)? Also: Drakolin leather armor?

Obciously we would need to be able to get the scales off and gather them for that.

Last, I believe scales, some teeth and maybe claws would make nice, if somewhat primitive, necklaces.

The claws might even be big enough to make daggers...

Cool ideas. If implemented, these would likely end up under the leather crafting skill, however.

We welcome them there.

Can this be a trader's only leatherwork mastery bonus? It sounds like a very hard material to work with and would be nice to see traders get a use for leatherworking mastery in a similar way, being able to craft special things that others others not are not able to.

Plus it sounds strong. Roughly how durable are these materials?

Drakolin hide/scales would likely fall under the scale leather class. Right now you can only make soft leather or rigid leather, so this could be a nice addition.

So, that might be a neat alternative/addition to the system. Durability would likely be a little bit higher than store bought scale leather, in addition to crafting bonuses.

So, in looking over a few things: rigid leather armor is actually the next class up from scale leather.

However, I've set things up so that Drakolin can now be skinned, and the scales sold, or used to create scale leather armor that is more durable than average.

Enjoy!
