Feeding the Soul Well

Post by June »

Would it be balanced if there was a room for the soul well proper where you could freely offer up soul shards in exchange for Guild points, but no riln will not be paid out as it was not personally requested.

I imagine we'd have rooks hunting rats and ravens like nobody's business and gaining quite a lot of guild ranks with extreme ease, so no, sorry.

If the exchange rate was very low in terms of GP per soul shred given, I could see this as being fair. But because of how easy it is to harvest souls, it would have to be fairly low. Perhaps if there was also a daily cap to how much could be given.

Could you link the amount of soul shards gained to how strong a mob is? I don't think a rat should give as many souls as a salamander. For very weak creatures like rats, have a higher chance of failing or giving one soul shard, ect.

FYI it's shreds. Soul shreds.

Linking the 'strength' of a shred to a critter is a project that has yet to be seriously thought out, but even then it wouldn't necessarily be based on the target skill or combat challenge. A mighty warrior's soul isn't going to necessarily be more potent than a scullery maid's.

The bottom line with this idea is that even if weaker critters give lower amounts, there will always be people who will take the easiest, most effortless route, and this system would be particularly exploitable that way, at least in a way that I do not wish to allow. You'll have to be content with the shred-collecting tasks that can come up. At least that way there's some chance and wait times involved.

I have always existed. Though, while you seem to specialize in Sorcery, I favor Cryomancy.

Just a joke, seemed like when I started playing all the Rooks just kinda vanished. I hope to RP with some soonish, though.
