Number of sides on a wooden chest?

Currently, a player needs 5 short planks and two hinges to manufacture a chest.

I know it's a nerf, but shouldn't 6 short planks be required?

Most chests aren't square, they're rectangular, so four are being used for the top, bottom, and two long sides, while the fifth is cut in half for the two short sides?
