There are some skill trainers around town that'll help you increase your skills, for a price. You can usually identify which NPCs are skill trainers because their name will indicate their profession, followed by their proper name, like "the bard Jerromir" or "the rogue Molly."

Due to odd recent weather phenomena (testing the weather system!), several of the skill trainers around Shadgard have moved indoors. Most can be found inside buildings that could be entered from the area the trainers used to occupy. A militia barracks has been added to the town just inside the gate (which currently serves no function other than a shelter for its NPCs, but may be expanded in the future), so combat trainer Baerig and the animated training dummy are no longer looking thoroughly out-of-place on Main Street.
