Carving

Post by Rithiel »

You can now CARVE TRINKETS of various animal types. Right now they can't be attached to jewelry, but that will change (hopefully soon). Soon you will also be able to sell them for considerably more than branches, although the price will depend on the quality.

Now you can CARVE TOYS of various kinds. And yes, I realize a wagon is not a figurine, but get over it for now.

An excellent addition, and I have already encountered one of the toys that was used to good effect in roleplaying/character-building moment. They are however slightly confusing, as they appear as for instance "a toy horse" but the base noun appears to be "toy" rather than "horse".

Yeah, I was torn on what to use for the noun. I can easily change it people find it confusing.

And I'm glad they're being used.

I'd suggest either making the toy type the noun (i.e. horse, soldier), or switching them up so that they're "a carved horse toy", "a carved soldier toy", and so on. That way you could specify which toy by the type, such as "get horse toy." As it is, there doesn't appear to be any way to specify which toy you want to target, since the type comes after the noun instead of before it.

Yeah, I'm sure I had a good reason at the time for doing it that way (probably that it was easiest), but I'll change it.

Is temporarily broken. Please refrain from carving (or know that we know it's buggy if you choose to do it).

I only broke it so that carvers will be saved from typing too much.

CARVING will now auto-continue, just like logging, mining, and foraging.
