In an effort to make cooking supplies more widely available, Zoiya whipped up an awesome kitchen/shop for Haiban. You can find it over the north footbridge, by the infirmary. There's also some very special new spice/ingredient jars that will shortly be making it's way to the rest of the Lost Lands.
Enjoy!

The jars are new, the spices are the ones that we had before.
I can look into adding new cooking spices, I've already had a few in mind. I'll ask here though in case you guys have a few I didn't think of, which spices would you like to see?

All of these are currently available (some for a crazy high price, which I'm looking into) and the salt and pepper in the packets sold in Mistral Lake, Haiban, Corvus and Ashdell.

The herbalist in Keth realized that he wasn't making any money, and decided to lower his prices:
An herbalist hands you a catalog listing the items for sale:
1. some potted parsley .......... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
2. some potted thyme ............ (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
3. some potted black pepper ..... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
4. some potted basil ............ (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
5. some potted bay leaves ....... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
6. some potted mint leaves ...... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
7. some potted oregano leaves ... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
8. some potted chilies .......... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
9. some potted garlic ........... (500 riln) (purchased: 0)
Until the code can be looked at, make sure you keep the pots on the ground and water them. If you put them on a surface they will not progress and grow to where they can be harvested.
Enjoy.
In the packets there are :
In the small paper packet you see a pinch of pepper (x15), some crushed red pepper (x10), a pinch of salt (x15), some mint leaves (x10), some mustard petals (x10), some bay leaves (x10) and a garlic clove (x10).
There is some room left in the small paper packet.
So any spices other than these that make sense, lets hear em!

I've been thinking it would be great to add nuts for cooking. I think there are already walnut trees that grow near the university, it would be cool to add walnuts and have them forage-able from rooms with walnut trees between September to November (adjusted for how the lost lands world isn't like ours, of course). I haven't noticed any other nut-bearing trees, but I'd love to see pecans, cashews, hazel nuts and almonds. I think I've actually seen some food items that include almonds I think, but not the plain nuts available for cooking/eating.

Mixed spices maybe? A blend of something like tony's. I love tony's.

You can grow tomato. =) Would be nice to be able to use it for stews/chilis and with pasta though.
Chili = Meat + tomato + chili pepper in a pot
Spaghetti Bolognese = Meat + tomato + basil + pasta in a pot

I see a disturbing lack of beans in that chili recipe...
Also, is pasta a thing in Clok? Hadn't really done much with cooking aside from throwing strips of meat and some herbs in a pan so far.

There aren't bean seeds so we would need those before they could be added to the recipe.

also as a point, beans in chili are considered a filler ingredient. you can't use them in competition cooking. most serious chili recipes don't include them, but before you say i'm a snob, i prefer my chili with beans in it, well when i am eating it by itself that is, on things there should be no beans.

While you may find it disturbing, traditional "chili" doesn't have beans.
EDIT: sorry, Preiman. Just saw your post.

Traditional competition chili doesn't have beans, everyone. But it can jump through a flaming hoola hoop, so don't say it doesn't have balls. #funfact

There are a few spices I'm looking into adding. They will likely be limited quality and only available in Haiban. There will be a post before they're put out for sale.
As for new recipes? Cooking is currently being worked up for overhaul, adding anything else to the code at this point is a lot of work that we could be using toward a new system. More details to come, later.

Sorry that I opened that can of chili worms. -_-
Also, thanks for the update Zoiya. Looking forward to cooking 2.0.
