As I understand it, the decision to make labels go away was intentional due to them being used on strange things that probably shouldn't have been labeled to begin with.
But their absence makes working with several types of items somewhere between painful and impossible. These are usually things that don't appear outwardly different for the purposes of container listings or manipulation, but can have very different contents. Things like books, papers, and vials of blood. For books and papers, one would currently have to cycle through the entire stack, reading each one till the desired one is found. With blood, I think it's just luck of the draw, which is fun in its own way.
If not general labels, could we at least get the capability to inscribe/entitle these sorts of items where it makes sense?
Titles, labels, etc.
Re: Titles, labels, etc.
I'd love it if we could just fill in titles for specific items - things like folders and vials I think should come sold with blank labels already affixed and things like papers and books should already be flagged as label-able (and change the LABEL command to instead let you interact w/ objects that have a Label flag on them, instead of being a command designed to affix a label). I'm currently avoiding putting all of my IC research notes into paper form in game, because the idea of juggling the papers and sorting them in a folder fills me with a deep dread.
