neckerchief masks - too thin to muffle one's voice

Post by Kent »

I get it when someone wears a full war greathelm, the thickness of that is going to muffle your voice.

I would like to request that when wearing a cotton or linen neckerchief, that no muffling effect would be caused when speaking. It's just too thin to modify the voice.

Keep in mind that the main point of the muffle effect to begin with was to make it apparent to others that the speaker was was wearing just such a mask. You lose that panache if people don't even realize you're wearing that bandana mask.

Well, there you go. I can't really afford to lose any more panache.

Come on, Kent. If anyone has panache to spare, it's you.

Even so: Any ideas to make the bandana masks more obvious so they can afford to lose the muffle?

Yes, my idea would be,

Kent says to you, talking through his bandana, "Do you have any weapons for sale?"

There we have the indication that we can't see Kent's lips moving but it isn't muffled nearly in the same degree that talking through a greathelm definitely would be.
