Re-hafting/hilting weapons

Fairly simple idea for a fairly common practice. It could be exclusive to wooden hafts but it's not unusual to take a blade and fit it to new handle material when the old one breaks or just out of desire for something new.
I think it could provide utility for artisans as a means of swapping out for better-made or different handle materials for their weaponry, regardless of whether or not it has any mechanical difference beyond the cosmetic, and could be an interesting avenue/time-user for RP purposes as well.
An argument could also be made for having it be a by-skill thing. Low-to-mid-tier Artisans/smiths can replace wooden hafts on spears and axes and the like rather easily but you need a higher skill for re-seating a blade in a new metal hilt. Possibly applying a forge process there, as well.
