I'd like to be able to stud leather items with metal. I tried doing this today and while I had bars of tiny, small, and standard size on the worktable with the item I wanted to stud, I was told by the system that I didn't have the right material there. ("How do you expect to add copper studs to the well-crafted sable leather gauntlets without any material to use?") I know it's possible to find such items in boxes, but rather than hoping I find something I like, it would be nice to be able to add my own choice of metal to my own custom-crafted items. And even if they have no mechanical advantage, metal studded gauntlets just look cool.

Studding for decoration sounds like a fantastic idea. +1

It would be nice, especially since you'd be able to make gauntlets that are effective against nethrim by using iron/steel/etc, making it in line with other crafting professions!
