I've noticed that the patrolmen don't ride their warhorses, and often they're out of sync with where the horses are. Is it possible to have these guys mounted, maybe even use war riding/similar abilities? Another thought, is that if they get to moderately wounded, maybe when combat is done, have them sent to the infirmary, and their horse unloaded, until they're better, then reload the horse to the pass, send the patrolman back, and have them remount and resume work. Just a thought, I've always found the out of sync pass a jarring thing.

There are two types of patrolmen. Mounted, and non-mounted. They do despawn (go to an infirmary) when they are wounded.

I suppose the problem you're seeing is the mounted patrolman probably despawned, leaving his warhorse behind. I can probably take a look at the seek healing AI to despawn any owned horses.
