Bandaging

In the recent changelog it was noted that bandaging now takes more time. I played around with this a little this morning and found that I can sit in an infirmary for 10+ mins before I get a full set of bandages and then it can take 10+ mins on top of that for the wound to heal. I understand the desire to allow players to practice on other infirmary-goers and I appreciate that consideration quite a bit, but first aid is very easy to train on yourself just in day to day dealings. I have yet to see players training it on NPCs in an infirmary. At least not since when I first started playing.
With how slow this is, I'm concerned that even bandaging bleeding wounds may take long enough for a person to pass out or possibly die before the bleeding has stopped. Is it possible to decrease the delay a bit or, since this change was to allow players to bandage NPCs, make it so PC characters are now targeted first and then in preference of wound order?
I know there's the argument that NPCs are people too. I get that. But NPCs aren't players. And, unfortunately, this seems too slow.
