With various deep and difficult swimming locations becoming available, could we please remove the hard cap from swimming, so we can learn to swim good?

Sure would like to swim across that river. You know the river. It's the one that's always in your way, it has no name nor location. It's just the river.

There isnt a hard cap on swimming. Swimming has difficulties and when you reach a point in some bodies of water you have to explore to find the next harder place to swim. they are out there, people just havent spent time looking for them yet. it is also possible to swim rivers, its just quite difficult!

swimming in rivers and these difficult places should be raising the swimming skill then, right? There were some places that took me 10+ tries, and some places that were so hard to swim in, I died, and still didn't get any skill gain, even when I got lucky on one of them and made it through (but failed and drowned on the way out). Should we be bugging these rooms?

Sounds like a bug for sure if its a super hard swim and you didnt get gains.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm sure I and other folks will be firing off bug reports as we search out what we believe to be difficult swimming areas in hopes of becoming better swimmers. Clok Swim Team activate! :)

Looking over the code, it is indeed capped. I have no idea why. I'll bring it up for discussion. Thanks for pointing it out.

It wasn't always capped at 10, it was put in place because there wasn't any real threat to drown at the time and there wasn't much sense to have it able to be trained with no risk.

After thinking about it, its because of some basic trainings...
These players are too new to have been around since that kind of a thing.
Ah well, can be right all the time.
