Homes

Post by June »

Can a place be set up where players can have an area to call home?

Purchasable homes in town are planned, as is the architecture skill for (among other things) building homes somewhere out in the wilderness.

That is reassuring, I hope to see how those things turn out.

Now start bugging Rithiel about woodworkers being able to make their own furniture.

Could that furniture also include a long house? If not.. where would they put the furniture they finish?

Before you bug me about furniture, make sure you bug Rias about a sawmill.

What would that be needed for?

Making planks or beams out of logs. Kind of like how you put ore into a furnace to get bars.

Well, it probably won't be an "Architecture" skill, more like "Carpentry."

Architecture for reinforcing mines and building homes, not for furniture-making.

Yeah, but architectures is like planning out how things should look. Are we also going to have a "Construction" skill that sees how well you actually implement it? Carpentry isn't just furniture making, in my mind.

From wikipedia: A carpenter (builder) is a skilled craftsperson who works with timber to construct, install and maintain buildings, furniture, and other objects. The work, known as carpentry, may involve manual labor and work outdoors.
