Some suggestions I thought would be nice...

Ability to cook meat or fish by shish-ke-babing them. We already have forageable sticks, so I was thinking small chunks of meat (or whole fish) could be stuck onto a stick and cooked over a campfire.
Spearfishing to give fishing experience? We're fishing, in a manner of speaking.
Flint spawns more often in the wilderness? I thought flint could be found along rivers but I followed the river for a while and I couldn't find any deposits.
Being able to filet fish with a sheathed knife, much like butchering with a sheathed knife.
Fish filets go into a wagon or handcart. I'm slightly disturbed by the fact that I'm dragging around a handcart or my horse is a wagon and I still end up 'carefully placing' my filets on the floor.
