I don't venture out into the wilderness often, but today I did. I love the compass. But would it be possible to make the compass map slightly bigger? Maybe one more row on all sides bigger?

Probably not, they didn't even add the current one until after the most recent Wilderness expansion. That and everything you can learn from the compass right now is stuff you could find out without leaving your square.

Oh, and this is just a side note, but I find it a LOT easier to figure out where I am on the map with the compass.
