Horse Combat Conditioning (not training)

Post by Bryce »

I have a horse. I love my horse. My horse is not war-trained. I do not want a war-trained horse.

I do, however, think it would be neat to get a "combat conditioning" trait somehow, whether through a special merchant at events or through some other means, to make it so that non-war-trained horses don't spook as easily in combat situations.

Yeehaw!

Clarification: This should only apply to when the horse is being ridden, so they're less likely to bolt along with their rider or throw their rider to the ground. If the horse is not bearing a rider, then I think they should still flee when attacked, for their own survival.

I love this idea. It also stands to reason that the better you are at riding, the less the horse should spook, unless this is a thing already? Not sure. Regardless. I love this idea.

Would be a kind of cool addition to the horse trainer Merchant. If they can teach war-trained mounts to be "better", why not, teaching non war-trained to at least be less spooked?

Is this still an issue? I thought that horses become secondary targets compared to players some time ago, and effectively don't throw their riders off anymore (Granted, another player can aim at them, but the AI can't.)
