Corvus's military and it's free acceptance of nether might warrant this. A means of gathering corpse material for the purposes of supplying the military and raw materials practitioners of Nethermancy.
Personally I like the idea of a nether summoned demon lacky bought at some for of corpse refineery/storage. At first it starts as a stumpy little bugger. It eats corpses, gains some sort of 'corpse points' (similar in a way to the soulshred points on the choker) As it eats it gets bigger and bigger untill a bloated mass. Then you take it back to storage and it pukes up all the 'material' into some sort of tank or resivoir.
In time add an ability for nethermancers to use the material to make some sort twisted golem construct that their familiar annimates as a step before major corpse reanimation.
