General Role Play Verb Suggestions

Post by drahkik »

So playing the game and interacting with people have made me type in commands of expressions or actions I would like to take to make the game come alive. Every ten commands or so that I think would be important I will post here. Here is my first list.

Jump
Leap
Salute
Keel
Shiver
Bow (As to bend your middle section, not the weapon)
Sleep?
Roll (As around on the ground)
Duck
Fall (As in fall on the ground)
Skip
Frolic

So that is it for now.

Excellent suggestions. What's the "keel" one? As in to keel over?

No I didn't mean Keel, though that would be funny. I meant Kneel. Here is my new list. I am sorry if you have added these since I've been making this list slowly over since my last post.

Shiver
Touch (Like ...touch stove..."You touch the stove and burn your hand, dummy.")
Yell (Like you can be heard from all adjacent squares)
roar
snore
sneer
sing
Roll eyes
blush
crouch (or is this done when you sneak)
Scratch head
some kind of command that will do a high five or a congratulations
Twirl or spin

Hiya! I liked to see these verbs -

giggle
peck - You give Bob a sweet peck on the cheek
curtsy
beam - You beam happily
quirk/arch/eye - you quirk an eyebrow/you arch an eyebrow

That's all I can think of for now! :)

Eve.

Giggle, curtsy, beam and arch now work. I must convene with my fellows to discuss "peck" (as well as similar things such as smooch, kiss, etc.).

Flex, Stretch?

stare {target}

'You stare off into the distance."
'You start at {target}'
'Collins stares at you."
'Collins stares off into the distance."

And.. a few others.

Salute
Cower
Agree
Panic
Scream
Roar
Stomp

and... I noticed this when testing verbs:

cheer
You cheer!

greet
You cheer!

That should be more like: "You nod in greeting."

I'll post more as I try them and they don't work in game. Hehe.

That would be because I used cheer as the template for greet, and must have missed a line. I'll fix it.

Niftyness! Would it be possible for nodding at someone to be changed to just nod's at you instead of nods in greeting, and maybe have greet be nods at you in greeting? Just an idea. :)

scowl war
You scowl at an iron-armored warhorse.

scowl landion
You glance down at yourself and scowl.

Enjoy.

snarl
You snarl, curling your upper lip.

snarl (Hiding)
You snarl quietly in the shadows.

snarl landion
You snarl quietly to yourself.

Snarl is now active in game.

Innocence is a noun, so we'd need to look at another verb combination to implement that sort of idea.

Innocent = adjective

Verbs are what can be used for simple role play verbs.

If we used the adverb 'Innocently' after a verb, I can see that working. For example: "smile innocently" or "glance innocently" I can see those working.

However, to get something like that to work, I will need to pester Rias to code it as that's a bit beyond my rookie code skillz just yet.

Yeah, I was thinking about modified verbs a while ago, but never got around to implementing them. Maybe I'll take another look.
