Tracking for Utasa
Tracking for Utasa
Was just thinking, that if Utasa were supposed to be agents, that they'd probably be able to track their targets, so was thinking I should suggest the tracking ability for Utasa.
[ESP-GRAY - Shadowy-Gray]: No no (player) , you were right, it's wonderful. I think I'll send in my application today. I can't wait to partake in the parties there. I just have one question, will I need to kidnap my own child, or will there be some there for those who are un able to.
Re: Tracking for Utasa
I could totally see this assuming it only functioned in areas tagged {urban}

Yeah, have two different types of tracking. Wilderness tracking, and Urban Tracking.

I don't really buy into the idea of straight up tracking in urban areas like one does in the wilderness. I always did think it would be neat to have some kind of similar purpose info-gathering ability, where you can ask the NPC crowd about who's passed through lately and they give you some general descriptions of people that were notable to them and which direction they headed or where they saw them.
"I noticed a man covered in gore at the Hearth and Home. He was lean, pale skin, had jet-black hair and ice-blue eyes."
"I saw someone wearing heavy bronze armor tromp through here a few moments ago. He was holding a copper greatsword in one hand and had a red cape. I think he was headed for Ironshell Armory."
And maybe you could ask after specific features like haircolor, eyecolor, build, etc. to try and ask after more specific people.

The lore compels me!

Agreed. It also makes complete sense. I could see the thieves and mummers possibly having it too just because I could imagine both being good at working crowds in that manner.Makkah wrote:That all sounds freakin sweet.Rias wrote:I don't really buy into the idea of straight up tracking in urban areas like one does in the wilderness. Re: Tracking for Utasa
A while back when I was still regularly playing, I developed a guild idea that I sent in to Rithiel, for mundane bounty hunters. One of their abilities was called Forensics, and might work well for the Utasa, in some form.
Forensics
-This ability can only be used in urban environments and along roads. The techniques used by the Hunters allow them to glean information on past events in a room based off of evidence presence. If a fight has happened recently in a room, they can find out. If it's happened recently enough, they can even tell who was involved. If any crimes have been committed in a room, this can also find out what and by who, depending on how recently the crime has been committed. Used in two ways, depending on the situation. Gather Evidence invokes 10 seconds of round time and makes a search on your perception versus the stealth of those involved in the room, allowing you to see what combat, if any, has transpired in the area. Gather Information invokes 20 seconds of round time, and informs you of any crimes performed in the vicinity by speaking with potential witnesses, as well as by searching for hard evidence.
-Prereqs: Perception 200, Bounty Hunter's License, Guild rank 1 or higher

All of these ideas sound really great in my opinion. would kind of be cool to have tasks fit into the skill too.
