available space in containers

It would be great to be able to get some idea of how much space is available yet in the containers.

Something like:
look container
It is open. It is almost full (or empty, or...).

While we're at it, it would also be great to get an idea of how much a container can hold. We already have maximum item size, but not maximum weight or volume for the sum of contents.
