Logout ghost period

As I made that fateful and accidental keypress to move my browser back a page and disconnect me from the web client, I considered the fact that such a disconnect could have been seen as beneficial to me as I had just been knocked down by an imp. As I further pondered the concept, I thought it might be well to have a short ghost period after disconnecting during which your character remains within the world. This would help to prevent individuals disconnecting to avoid harm or other bad situations. Perhaps logging out in a private home or other personal quarters such as dorms, living cells, inn rooms, and so on would not have the ghost period.
