Those, imho, look a little on the low side...is it just me and are they the way they should be? Or is that a little low as I theorize?

Any other weapon it seems gains at a minimum of 0.005. At my firearms and marksman levels, it's nearly impossible to hit at tactics dodge -- the rolls are so close now as it is, and it feels like compared to any other weapon the lessons are extremely drawn out torture! :)

I don't see where you're getting these numbers in the thousandths. Keep in mind you only get skill when you hit something. If you're trying to average out your skill gain based on your total number of attacks, whether or not they hit, that's not going to be accurate.

Your skill gain will go up as you get better at using the weapon and you start hitting your targets more.

Were you under a death depart penalty at the time?

You hit the target once for 0.01 skill.

You hit it again with an attack penalty (armor probably?) for 0.012 skill.

You hit it a third time for 0.01 skill.

On your fourth hit, you didn't seem to get any skill. I'm not sure why, I'd have to look into that.

You hit it a fifth time for another 0.01 skill.

You hit it the sixth and final time while it was unconscious for no skill (unconscious targets never grant any skill).

No, I wasn't under a depart penalty. Will armor cause issues with skillgains? I was wearing armor...

Also, my lesson was going down in some of those 0l.005 it seems. I've usually always seen those go down 0.01. From what you're saying, though, this is normal?

One big issue is that weapon gain is largely based on the roundtime of the attack (so faster and slower weapons all gain at the same rate). Firearms, of course, are unique in that they fire very quickly, but take time to load as a separate action. Thusly, the load time wasn't being considered in the gain equation upon firing ... oops.

Fixed now, though!
