After playing for a year, I discovered the Register command, remarkably only last week.

Other than not being able to pawn the registered item, are there any disadvantages or other implications to registering it I may not have realized?

If you suspect someone of stealing your registered item you can get them into trouble (with a little roleplay) if you get the authorities involved. I have tons of stolen registered items by the way. Harhar!
