Cleaning Pelts/Skins

Post by criticalfault »

After spending a few hours gathering a plentiful and delightful stock of skins/pelts. I decided to try my hand at cleaning them. After quickly realizing that failure means the destruction of the item. I thought it would increase the value (Since its a step required and a dangerous one of that!) I was instead greeted with a reduction in value. Sounds odd so i thought i'd kick it here and see what the thought was!

It's like lapidary in that when you start out, you can end up doing more harm than good and making the quality worse. Once you get better at skinning, it'll start increasing value.
The lore compels me!

And then you get one of those wonderful momemts where you turn an awful pelt into average or awesome leather, amd then you do a happy dance because you're magic.
A scrawny alley cat stares after the dog with big green eyes.
Speaking to a scrawny alley cat, you ask, "Friend of yours?"
A scrawny alley cat hisses angrily.

I don't know if it's specifically the type of creature I'm hunting and their pelts, but cleaning doesn't change their value...
