Lcraft Base

Post by Acarin »

Had an idea that the base item we're making should be switchable to other synonyms... so instead of a hat for example you could lcraft hat base cap when you were done making a hat and end up with a cap!
I took the liberty of coming up with a list of things that may or may not be appropriate.

footwear:
shoes: loafers, clogs, flats, brogues
sandals: espadrilles
slippers: moccasins

armor:
boots: ankle boots, workboots, riding boots
gorget: collar, choker
breastplate: hunts, cuirass, corselet, mantle
greaves: cuisses
vambraces: bracers, spaulders, armguards
gauntlets: handguards, gloves
helm: helmet, mask, skullcap

container:
satchel: carryall, tote, kit, duffel bag
pouch: poke, purse, sack
backpack: (move pack here), knapsack, haversack, rucksack

clothing:
hat: cap, fedora (so sporty!), bonnet
pants: trousers, pantaloons
cloak: cape, (move longcloak and greatcloak here)
tunic: shirt
jacket: coat, overcoat
longcoat: overcoat
belt: sash, strap
gloves: mittens, mitts
*This definitely needs added: Loincloth, breechcloth, codpiece!

20:21:01 [CHAT - (a mysterious GM)]: With obvious effort, Zuki pries up a thick scale over a drakolin's chest! Zuki spearhand-strikes the soft, unprotected area under the scale! Heart ruptured, death follows immediately. A drakolin lets out a final bellow of rage and falls lifeless to the ground.

[FROM Rias (OOC)]: Jaster can now pick the lock on your bathroom door. I don't want any more details on that bug report.
You ask, "Are we there yet?"
Bryce angrily says, "I will turn this horse RIGHT AROUND."
Speaking to you, Jaster exclaims, "Compassion, Sister Lae!"

For Tanning, the Wiki should be made to reflect that proper wording is:

TAN {pelt} {type}
Note: For {type} you have a choice of creating soft leather, rigid leather, or fur (should be Natural).

I like the options here, variety is the spice of life after all, but I think some of them might be a bit odd for leather - mittens, shirts for example. There are leather versions of these to be sure, but I prefer cloth or weaves and it might be best to leave those for a possible weaving skill or clothing stores.

Never seen this thread before. I like the idea - too bad I didn't see it before the leatherworking additions last month.

How could I forget:

As armor: Leggings (currently available as clothing), leg-wraps, hand-wraps, body-wraps (for the mummy look?), arm-wraps, facewraps (maybe as a helm/mask)... Seriously, the mummy look is in.
As belts: Sashes, waist sash, low-slung belt, utility belt (with pockets of course).
For legs above clothes or armor: Thigh belts / knee-belts - potentially stylish and great for hanging a belt pouch from.
From the neck: neckpouch
