Do pelts rot/go away if you don't use them after a certain time?

by Rias
Nope.

Heh, I had like 30/40 of them in my baggage and now they are gone... Oddness. It's no biggie just was wondering if they rotted away. Thanks :)

Is natural leather armor heavier than soft leather armor?

I thought I was going crazy! xD

Looked it up - natural leather ends up as soft leather.

Oh, yes. Sorry, I somehow missed that question.

Fur and soft leather both = the soft leather armor class

rigid leather = rigid leather armor class.

Seeing as it takes long to skin larger animals can we cut the hide into pieces to make things like bags without using a full bison hide?

I mentioned once to Rias about having larger animals produce more 'pelts' kind of like butchering produces several chunks of meat.

I'll run this by him again, since he was the one to setup skinning.

On the to-do list!

I cringe when I imagine your to-do list. -_-

Whenever I look at it, I close my eyes and imagine a different to-do list that says:
Rias' To-Do List wrote: 1. Make cool new area I've been wanting to work on for the last several months but haven't because there's too much else to do
2. Eat cookies
3. Finish up working on Mummers
4. Subtly alter code so that Jaster's die rolls are weighted toward 0
5. Intentionally open loophole so I can hit exploiters with the banhammer
6. Eat cookies
7. Inflict Alexander with a disease that effects his mind and causes him to think he's become heavily nether-tainted to see how he'll react
8. Make more fun things hurlable
9. Eat cookies
I've updated leathcrafting to allow you to change the descriptor once the item has been completed.

In order to do this, place the item on the worktable.
Syntax: LCRAFT {target} {category} {choice}

Examples:
Instead of 'poor' you can choose from a list of similar descriptors.
Instead of 'excellent' you can choose from a list of 'good' choices.

This process will be adjusted as testing continues.
What is this list and when do I chose to select them? When it is completed? Before I start lcraft?

Also.. why is there a Trace AND LCraft step? Couldn't this be fused like it is for Forging?

In regard to your first question:
...once the item has been completed.
In regard to your second:

No. The way leather crafting and forging work are entirely different.

You don't trace a pattern onto metal before heating it as the marks would instantly dissapear and melt off.

You're talking about the difference between working metal, and working leather. The systems are meant to feel and be different.

#1 Derp on my part, let me try that now..

#2 I see, I underestimated the 'feel' aspect of things and was thinking of just mechanics.

#3 ..Will you change it a bit, I think I tanned a rat skin for the same item I used deer skins for.

I've talked to Rias about having larger critters offer a chance to get more portions of skin to work with. Right now it isn't implemented, but it will be in the future.
