Mistveil Keep Attacked!

There have been rumors and reports of Mistral Lake having come under attack last evening. While lost souls have been wandering the roads of the Lost Lands for the last several nights now, the shades were present in countless numbers in the Vatnfjall Ruins last night, and some were even appearing within the town of Mistral Lake built on the nearby lake platform. While the shadowy creatures did little more than cause general fright and panic, and were kept in check by local guards, templar, and some brave adventurers, it appears there was more going on within Mistveil Keep itself.
A few panicked communications were heard over the Gray ESP Channel, asking for reinforcements to bring iron to the Keep. Normally, of course, Keep matters are kept to private channels, but it can be assumed that in the state of emergency, someone was willing to communicate on the broader public Gray channel. While Keep reinforcements were called for, its guards were instructed to keep the main entry portcullis closed at all costs. Many disturbing noises and sights occurred around the tall, fog-shrouded tower - clear signs of struggle and battle. The aforementioned adventurers lent their aid in keeping the main entry secure, and assisted Keep sentries in staving off several nether-creatures.
What happened within the Keep remains a mystery - those within are notoriously tight-lipped about their affairs. Official word is that it was a minor incident and the security of the Keep was shown to be more than adequate, and no serious damage was done. Observers of the incidents from outside the tower find this difficult to swallow, considering what was seen and heard, but no further official news or information appears to be forthcoming.
As news of the incident has traveled, locals around Shadgard have commented that those in Mistral Lake should be reconsidering the "silly traditions" of Shadgardians and make efforts to place pumpkin lanterns at all the town entrances in order to ward off the evil creatures that come into power during the month of Octum each year.
